Singapore has more free and entirely legal ways to watch than most countries: Mediacorp's meWATCH, digital lending through the National Library Board, and free ad-supported tiers on several commercial services. None of them require anything questionable, and between them they cover a lot of viewing.
meWATCH
Free and ad-supported, carrying Channel 5, Channel 8, Suria and Vasantham — all four Mediacorp channels, on demand. It is the only place Singaporean television lives, and for Malay and Tamil viewers it is close to the only substantial service of any kind. Covered in full on its own page.
The National Library Board
The most underused option in the country. An ordinary NLB membership — free to Singaporeans and permanent residents — includes digital lending that covers film and documentary alongside books. The catalogue is curated rather than comprehensive, which for documentary and world cinema is a feature.
Free tiers on paid services
Viu runs the most usable free tier: ad-supported, with new Korean episodes delayed rather than withheld. The Chinese platforms — iQIYI, WeTV and Bilibili — all run free tiers on the same pattern. You wait and you watch advertising, but the catalogue is real.
